12 Million Jobs

The initiative will focus on strategic economic engagement areas, including:​

YEIDEP Projects

The Youth Economic Intervention and De-Radicalization Programme (YEIDEP) includes various projects aimed at empowering Nigerian youth through economic opportunities and reducing the risk of radicalization. These projects focus on critical sectors such as agriculture, technology, renewable energy, and the creative industries. Here are some key projects:

• Youth Farmers’ Cooperative Scheme – Organizes and supports young people in agriculture, from farming to agro-processing, aiming to create millions of new youth farmers and improve food production​. In addition to these flagship schemes, YEIDEP includes other complementary programs. For instance, a Food4All Initiative has been mentioned as a strategy to ensure affordable food supply while engaging youth in food production​.

There are also mentorship and entrepreneurship incubation platforms like Mentee2CEO, which pairs inexperienced youth with mentors to help them grow into business owners​.

Partnerships and Funding Sources

YEIDEP is supported by the government, civil society, and the private sector. It was initiated by the Youths Off The Street Initiative (YOTSI) and is implemented through the Federal Ministry of Youth Development. The program has high-level government backing, with support from the Youth Development Ministry and the Nigerian Senate’s Committee on Sports Development. Senator Ned Nwoko played a key role in its establishment.

A coalition of Nigerian banks, including Fidelity Bank, Keystone Bank, Union Bank, Lotus Bank, Access Bank, UBA, First Bank, Zenith Bank, Wema Bank, Sterling Bank, and Jaiz Bank, provides financial services, loans, and specialized accounts for youth beneficiaries. Keystone Bank has introduced a tailored process to help enrollees access credit, aiming to empower 10 million youths in agriculture, technology, and renewable energy. Most funding for youth projects is expected to come from commercial banks, possibly with government support.

On the government side, funding includes federal budget allocations and the planned National Youth Bank, set to provide youth-friendly financial products, mentorship, and investment. This initiative ensures that even those with little collateral can access funding.

YOTSI also contributes through FUND-YES, a platform that pools philanthropic donations, impact investments, and grants to finance youth entrepreneurship. Additionally, international partners are involved in advisory and financial roles.

Eligibility Requirements

For YEIDEP Registration (previously known as NIYEEDEP), applicants are typically required to meet the following criteria:

1. You Must Be a Nigerian Citizen
Only people who are legally Nigerian by citizenship can register. If you are not a Nigerian, you are not allowed to apply.

2. Age Must Be Between 18 and 35 Years
YEIDEP is for young people. You must be at least 18 years old and not older than 35 years. If you are below 18 or above 35, your application will not be accepted.

3. A Valid NIN Is Required
To confirm your identity, you must provide your National Identification Number (NIN). If you do not have a NIN, you must get one before applying.

4. Must Have a Business Interest
The program supports people who are serious about starting or growing a business. This includes ideas in areas like:

YEIDEP Registration Portal Process (Online Application)

The YEIDEP program is making waves across Nigeria. As of now, more than 5.1 million youths have signed up for the 2025 cycle. If you are yet to apply, you still have time – but only until May 31, 2025. The registration is fully online, and the steps are simple. If you’re serious about business support, training, or financial help, here’s everything you need to know.

How to Register

You don’t need to visit any office. You can apply directly from your phone or laptop in a few steps.

1. Visit the Yeidep Registration Portal

Go to yeidep.org. To go straight to the form, type yeidep.org/registration.php into your browser. The portal works on both mobile and desktop.

2. Create an Account

Click on “Register”. You’ll be asked to enter your email, phone number, and set a password. This password will also be your login code.
Make sure to use your correct phone and email because you will receive updates there.
Already registered under NIYEEDEP before? You don’t need to sign up again. Your data has been moved to the new platform.

3. Fill in the Online Application Form

After logging in, complete your form with the right personal details. This includes:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Gender
• State and LGA
• Nationality (should be Nigeria)
• NIN (National Identification Number)
• BVN (if available)
• Educational or work history
• Details of your business idea
• Your sector of interest (e.g. agriculture, fashion, ICT)

4. Upload Your Documents

If you didn’t give a bank account, YEIDEP will create one for you with a partner bank. You’ll receive the account number and bank name by SMS. This is the account where your loan or grant will come.

7. Go to the Bank for KYC

With your new account number, go to the nearest branch of that bank. Carry these items:

• National ID
• BVN
• NIN
• Passport photo

Tell them you are a YEIDEP applicant. They will do your KYC (Know Your Customer) and activate your account. You may also need to give fingerprints or sign documents. This step must be done before you can receive any money.

8. Wait for Further Instructions

Once your bank account is ready and verified, you wait. The YEIDEP team will contact you with the next steps.

No, the data of previous applicants has been saved, and they will be considered first when empowerment begins.

The new portal asks for interests in farming. Does this affect older applicants?
No, the new system is just easier and faster. Previous applicants may have to be interviewed to categorize their farming interests, but there is no major impact.

The new portal doesn’t direct applicants to specific banks like the old one. What should we do?
The new system will make it easier for applicants to open bank accounts. Data will be sent to the banks, and accounts will be created and sent to applicants by SMS. You will need to visit the bank branch to finish registration by uploading documents like passport, BVN, NIN, etc.

The new portal asks for a password. What is this for?
The password is your personal login code. You can use it anytime to access the portal, in case you forget your code or need any updates.

What happens after completing registration and opening bank accounts?
Once your registration is complete, you will wait for updates. Keep checking for messages or updates through SMS or social media.

Will there be more sources of information from YEIDEP?
